Reformed Churchmen

We are Confessional Calvinists and a Prayer Book Church-people. In 2012, we remembered the 350th anniversary of the 1662 Book of Common Prayer; also, we remembered the 450th anniversary of John Jewel's sober, scholarly, and Reformed "An Apology of the Church of England." In 2013, we remembered the publication of the "Heidelberg Catechism" and the influence of Reformed theologians in England, including Heinrich Bullinger's Decades. For 2014: Tyndale's NT translation. For 2015, John Roger, Rowland Taylor and Bishop John Hooper's martyrdom, burned at the stakes. Books of the month. Cipriano de Valera (Valera (¿?) [ 1 ] (Badajoz), 1532– Londres , 1602) fue un religioso y humanista español , que perteneció junto con Casiodoro de Reina al monasterio de San Isidoro del Campo , en Santiponce , ( Sevilla ) y Pamplona. Cipriano de Valera (Valera (?) [1] (Badajoz), 1532 London , 1602) was a religious and humanist Spanish , which belonged with Cassiodorus Queen the monastery of San Isidoro del Campo in Santiponce ( Sevilla ) and Pamplona.

Conoció a Juan Calvino , de quien fue discípulo y traductor de sus obras (tradujo la primera edición castellana de La institución de la religión cristiana en 1597). He met John Calvin , who was a disciple and translator of his works (translated the first Spanish edition of Institutes of the Christian Religion in 1597). Se estableció en Inglaterra en 1558, enseñando artes, teología y castellano en Cambridge , Oxford y Londres . He settled in England in 1558, teaching arts, theology and Castilian in Cambridge , Oxford and London .

Empezó la revisión de la famosa Biblia del Oso , de su paisano Casiodoro de Reina, a partir de 1582 con la dedicación de Para la gloria de Dios y el bien de la Iglesia Española . He began reviewing the famous Bear Bible , his countryman Cassiodorus Queen, from 1582 with the dedication of To the glory of God and the good of the Spanish Church. Al cabo de 20 años y antes de su muerte, la pudo concluir en septiembre. After 20 years before his death, it was concluded in September.
